David Chen first encountered the Gospel during his freshman year of college, which marked the beginning of a transformative journey. Despite the challenges posed by a government, culture, and family tradition often hostile to Christianity, God guided David to know and follow Him.

After graduation from graduate school, David felt God’s call to begin full-time ministry at a small underground church. That same year, he married his classmate Abigail, whom he had led to faith, and they are blessed with three children. They served together with Korean missionaries in Beijing, establishing and pastoring two underground churches among university students.

David earned a Master of Divinity from Asia Lutheran Seminary while serving full-time and is now working towards a Doctor of Practical Theology at McMaster Divinity College. David hopes, together with the Blessings, his life be a greater blessing to more people.
